St Paul’s Juniors is the junior division for St Paul’s School (see entry in HMC section) and attracts bright, enthusiastic boys who are inquisitive and eager to learn.
Working closely alongside St Paul’s senior school to inform the curriculum ensures continuity and a more holistic learning experience, with some teaching staff working across both schools. Pupils at St Paul’s Juniors hold a place at St Paul’s School and transfer automatically at the end of Year 8, subject to ongoing good work and conduct, rather than a formal examination. Our aim is to offer a broad education to every pupil, along with the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of activities. Music, Art, Drama and Sport are all strong, but additional activities range from history and debating to chess, coding and cookery.
Boys join the School at 7+, 8+ and 11+. Fifty-four boys join Year 3 into three classes of 18 and a further 18 join them at 8+. Thirty-six boys join in Year 7 creating a total of six classes in Years 7 and 8. Entrance at all levels is by competitive examination and interview. Means-tested bursaries are available at all points of entry.
St Paul’s School sits on the south bank of the Thames. St Paul’s Juniors is on the same campus as St Paul's School. The Juniors are currently housed in recently refurbished accommodation, which is separate but adjacent to the senior school’s main teaching block. Two major new buildings, now under construction on the campus, will ultimately become the long-term home for St Paul’s Juniors and are due for completion in 2025. While SPJ shares some amenities with the senior school, including the dining hall, the sports complex, engineering workshops, the music centre and playing fields, it also has its own science laboratories, art studios, computer suites, drama studio and library.
Charitable status. St Paul’s School is a Registered Charity, number 1119619. The object of the charity is to promote the education of boys in Greater London.
