Curriculum. Broad, balanced and imaginative.
Set in the heart of the Kent countryside, St Faith’s Prep is a happy, high-achieving prep school & nursery for children aged 2-11.
Academic. Children are taught in small classes (average class size is 16) by our cohort of inspirational teachers. We are known for our outstanding academic results (typically 80-90% of Year 6 leavers attain grammar school places and many are offered scholarships to local independent schools), a determination to provide a bespoke education for every child, and our welcoming and nurturing family atmosphere.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum which offers every child the opportunity to shine. Our teaching staff ensure that every child is nurtured and achieving at the best of their ability. For some, this is excelling academically, winning spelling bees or tackling the toughest of maths challenges. For others it is programming LEGO robots, driving a football or hockey ball towards the goal, creating unique works of art or playing the trumpet in a concert.
Specialist Teachers. Children have access to our subject specialist teachers from the very youngest classes. Every child at St Faith’s plays a musical instrument and by the end of Year 6 most children have a solid understanding of sheet music. Expert sporting tuition means our teams play to a very high standard and our children proudly don the purple and gold kit to represent the school in matches. All children learn German, French and Spanish during their time with us, with Latin also on offer for those particularly keen on languages. From Year 2 onwards our children learn coding, and our digital strategy means that from Year 4 each child has their own Surface Go device, used across the curriculum as part of their learning.
Facilities. Our brand new, state of the art Sports Hall offers the perfect place to hone skills and learn new ones, and the Summer Term sees our heated saltwater pool full to the brim with happy, splashing children. From Upper Nursery onwards, our children all receive swimming lessons as part of their PE lessons, learning important skills to keep them safe (and having fun!) Our extensive outdoor space offers views across the countryside and provides the backdrop to sports lessons, and our Nature Garden is the perfect place to really bring learning to life through hands on opportunities to explore the world around them, from pond-dipping to growing vegetables and tending to the school rabbits.
Extracurricular. We offer a wide range of clubs and activities, including 3 choirs, 2 orchestras, cooking, dance, cheerleading, netball, art, LAMDA, basketball, fencing, yoga and quidditch (yes you read that right!).
Ethos and Community. Our school motto ‘I Can & I Will’ embodies the atmosphere of St Faiths; we are approachable and friendly, committed to giving all our pupils a strong education together with a raft of experiences and opportunities. St Faith’s is a place where children will make friendships, build confidence and develop a love of learning.
