Kingswood Prep School is like no other, with an abundance of outdoor learning space and boundless opportunities. Here, we celebrate individuality and uniqueness in an unrivalled woodland setting in one of the most beautiful cities in England.
We are a co-educational day school welcoming children between the ages of nine months to 11 years, located in Lansdown, Bath. Providing a happy, secure and family friendly environment, our children are encouraged to fulfil their academic, artistic, sporting and musical potential. Each one of our exceptional teachers helps each child to develop their personality and to find the essence of what it means to be themselves; all with the Kingswood spirit and ethos. The majority of children go on to join Kingswood School for Year 7.
The Garden at Kingswood. Our purpose-built nursery welcomes children from nine months old for 50 weeks of the year. Learning comes through play, experimentation, investigation and discussion; starting from the child’s own experiences and interests.
All children make full use of the outdoor spaces, and the curriculum is enriched by specialist teaching of Swimming, Games, Languages, Outdoor Learning, Music and Art in our Preschool and Reception rooms.
Opportunities. We provide opportunities to challenge and excite every one of our children both in and out of the classroom, including Bath’s first education-based STEAM and Innovation Centre. This equips our pupils with the practical skills needed in an ever-changing workplace. Pupils have opportunities to explore a range of creative and innovative processes from Robotics and Programming in the STEAM rooms, to ceramics and printing in the Art room.
Co-curricular activities. At Kingswood Prep, we aim to provide the best all-round experience for your children, both in and out of the classroom. We offer an extensive and varied activity programme with more than 80 co-curricular activities each week, giving children experiences that go well beyond a normal school day.
We believe that every child has strengths and many have hidden talents; our challenge is to unlock and then nurture them. The activity programme is a key vehicle in enabling this process, as well as in helping our children to become more confident and self-motivated.
Charitable status. Kingswood Preparatory School is a Registered Charity, number 309148.
