Kew Green Preparatory School is housed in an attractive building and grounds directly next door to the Royal Botanical Gardens. The front of the school overlooks Kew Green, which is used for games and the back of the school has a good-sized playground which looks onto the River Thames.
In a non-pressurised, caring environment, KGPS produces excellent academic results, sending its pupils to London’s best independent senior schools.
The children are encouraged to use philosophy and ethical thinking throughout the curriculum, which includes English, maths, science, French, RE, music, design & technology, art, games/PE and computer studies. All Upper School children attend a summer term Residential Week where cross-curricular studies are applied in a non-urban environment.
There are many after-school clubs and sports activities including three choirs, an orchestra and rock band. Individual tuition is offered in piano, violin, brass, woodwind, cello, saxophone, guitar, drums and singing.
An 8.00am to 6.00pm All-Day Care service is offered to parents at an extra charge.
The school is noted for its warm, happy atmosphere where parents play a full part in enriching the curriculum and social life. Off-site visits and guest workshops presented by noted visitors are a regular feature of education at Kew Green.
The school is always heavily over-subscribed and registration is recommended from birth. A prospectus can be downloaded on the school website and the registration form is now online.
The school opened a nursery in September 2022 for children aged 2 to 4 years old. Kew Green Nursery is a beautifully spacious environment situated opposite Kew Green and moments away from Kew Green Preparatory School. The children that attend Kew Green Nursery have the opportunity to transition to the Reception class at Kew Green Preparatory School, should this be the desired choice for parents.
