Age Range. 3–11 co-educational.
Number of Pupils. 100 day boys/girls and 30-place Foundation Stage Unit. Boarding is available from Year 5: details on request.
Fees per term (2024-2025). Day: Reception–Year 2 £2,900; Years 3–6 £4,000.
Staffing. 9 full-time teaching and 6 part-time teaching and a number of teaching assistants. Specialist teachers deliver: music, art, PE, French, dance and drama, with additional peripatetic staff providing further individual tuition in Music and the Arts.
Location. Heathfield stands in its own substantial grounds and enjoys an outstanding rural position in a beautiful Pennine location with easy access via the motorways to Manchester and Leeds.
Facilities. Well-equipped classrooms; Foundation Stage Unit and purpose-built Infant classes; designated teaching rooms for Music, Science, Art and Design Technology; modern ICT Suite; library; a multi-purpose Hall for assemblies and productions; heated indoor swimming pool; netball court and football/rugby pitch; eco-classroom; outdoor music area; and the Forget-Me-Not sensory garden.
Wraparound Care. Pre/After School Care and Holiday School available.
Forest School. Children learn through playing and the hands-on forest school approach gives them plenty of opportunity to do just that, we have our own river, waterfall and even a brand new eco-classroom!
Aims. To provide a stimulating and challenging environment in which individual attainment is nurtured, recognised and celebrated.
To ensure each child receives their full entitlement to a broad, balanced curriculum which builds on a solid foundation in literacy and numeracy.
Curriculum. An extensive programme of study which incorporates the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. An emphasis on developing an independence in learning and analytical thinking through Literacy, Numeracy, Science, French, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Design Technology, Information and Communications Technology, Music, Art and Physical Education.
Enrichment and Extension. There are over 90 different enrichment and extension activities on offer every term including activities such as: Drama, Choir, Orchestra, Baking, Brass, Recorder, String Groups, Art, Board Games, Lego, Astronomy and Mystery Solving Club.
Sports. Include Swimming, Rounders, Netball, Football, Rugby, Cross-Country, Cricket, Athletics, Gymnastics, Hockey and Biathlon.
Trips and Performances. Each term there are plays and musical concerts incorporating most children in the School. Residentials include Outdoor Pursuits, Camping and Environmental Studies.
Charitable status. Rishworth School is a Registered Charity, number 1115562. It exists to provide education for boys and girls.
