Radnor House Sevenoaks Prep School is a flourishing independent school with entry from the day a child turns 2 up to the age of 11 (Nursery to Year 6).
Aims and Ethos. As the world becomes more complex, diverse and fast paced, the school’s mission is to future-proof its pupils to give them the very best start in life. Academic qualifications are an important aspect of this but so too are interpersonal skills such as emotional intelligence and leadership. Underpinning their approach to education is a set of core values – excellence, respect, courage and perseverance – which form the bedrock of the school and provide a moral compass for children from school through to adulthood. Pupil happiness is their first priority as a happy child is one who will thrive, grasp opportunities to learn and develop and will become a confident and well-balanced young person. One key focus is to be a pioneer in preparing the children for the digital age by working with Microsoft as one of their flagship schools as they aim to build adults who can thrive in the world of tomorrow by using technology to propel their learning forward.
Location. Situated in a Palladian Mansion and set in superb grounds with 27 acres of parkland just outside Sevenoaks, the school has excellent facilities. The Nursery and Prep School are on the same site as the Senior School and Sixth Form and there are many positive links between them, so that all pupils have guaranteed access through the school until they leave at 18. The Prep School is housed in an original stable block and affords a unique environment in which the students feel secure and comfortable.
Curriculum. A modern and broad range of subjects is taught at all age levels. The school boasts a strong Art Department with an innovative graphic design suite, alongside a popular Music Department with regular exhibitions and musical performances in which wide participation is achieved. Radnor House Sevenoaks has a well-earned reputation for competitive success in a wide range of sports. Swimming in the 25-metre covered pool is a particularly popular activity throughout the whole school. Outdoor Adventurous Education has taken a firm place on the curriculum in the form of Forest School and Bush Craft.
Transport. Coach transport is organized for pupils from Year 4 onwards for five significant routes, to be paid for on a termly basis.
Fees per term (2023-2024). Preparatory School £4,315–£5,570 (Lunch £325).
