Reigate Grammar School (RGS) is a co-educational day school for pupils aged 11 to 18. The Sunday Times Independent School of the Year for 2025, and Education Today Independent School of the Year for 2024, it is a multi-award winning school proud of its track record in being recognised by many national awarding bodies in recent years including Wellbeing and Pastoral Care (TES); Community Outreach (ISP); UK Social Mobility Awards (SOMO); Learning Support (Muddy Stilettos), Community Engagement and Outreach (Education Today); Highly Commended Sixth Form (Muddy Stilettos); and a Leading Parent Partnership certification for engagement with parents.
RGS is regularly listed in the Times league tables as amongst the highest attaining schools in the country. In 2024, 97% of A Level grades were A*–B and 90% of GCSE grades were 7–9. 95% of students received university offers from Oxford, Cambridge, Russell Group, medical schools and prestigious universities in America or Europe.
The school is situated in the historic market town of Reigate, just outside the M25, yet with easy transport links into London, Surrey and Sussex. There is also a popular coach service spanning a 20-mile radius across 12 routes, including late buses, enabling even more students to benefit from the school’s strong tradition of excellence in a wide variety of extracurricular activities, including an enviable reputation in sport, music, drama and art. Large numbers of pupils participate in the Combined Cadet Force and in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The school raises a significant amount of money each year for local and national charities and students give thousands of hours to volunteering locally.
