Scholarships
Pupils who intend to join Glenalmond in our Third Form can apply for Scholarships in their area of excellence. As well as the kudos of being a Glenalmond Scholar, successful applicants also benefit from a fee remission, of up to 10%. The scholarships come in two forms: named Academic Scholarships; and College Scholarships in Art, Drama, Music, Piping or Sport. We also offer Sixth Form Scholarships.
Bursaries
Fee remission as assessed by the submission of a Bursary Application Form to the COO/Bursar by 1 February of the year preceding entry, and as available by the college to distribute. A sibling discount policy recognises the burden of fees for more than one child at a time and is applied with a 5% remission for a second child, 20% remission for a third child, and 50% remission for a fourth (or more) child. Financial assistance is provided for serving members of the Armed Forces and members of the Clergy, both attracting an automatic 10% remission on fees.

Religion. The College has an Episcopalian foundation and has a splendid Chapel. However, pupils from a wide range of ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds are welcomed.
Admission. Glenalmond offers both day and boarding. There is Second Form entry for pupils in Primary 7 and Glenalmond College is becoming increasingly popular as a Sixth Form option and admission is welcome at any year.
Curriculum. In the Second and Third Forms (Years 8 and 9, S1 and S2) all pupils take a wide range of subjects including English, Mathematics, History, Geography, French, Spanish or German, Latin or Ancient Civilisation, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Technology, Music, PSHCE, Drama, Art and ICT. In the Fourth and Fifth Forms pupils may choose three options from a wide range of subjects (including Latin and Greek), along with the core subjects of Mathematics, English Language and Literature, French, and the three Sciences. Each pupil is guided by an academic tutor who meets regularly with their tutor group.
The Sixth Form curriculum is designed to allow pupils as wide a choice as possible with 21 A Level subjects being offered and 4 Higher subjects. There are weekly lectures from outside speakers on social, economic, and cultural subjects that foster academic excellence across the age ranges and the William Bright Society promotes cross-year group discussions on relevant academic and moral issues.
Careers. Over 98% of pupils continue to university and around half of pupils go to Russell Group universities, with a good number gaining places at Oxbridge each year.
Art, Drama and Music. Music plays a central part in the life of the school: there is an Orchestra as well as smaller String, Woodwind, and Brass Groups, the pipe band and choirs. The Drama and Art departments flourish, in conjunction with the well-established Design and Technology Centre.
Sport and Recreation. There is a wide variety of sporting activities to choose from including Rugby, Hockey, Lacrosse, Cross-Country, Cricket, Athletics, Basketball, Shooting, Sailing, Tennis and Golf. There is a large indoor heated Swimming Pool and Squash Courts, Tennis Courts, a nine-hole (James Braid designed) Golf Course, and a world-class, water-based astroturf pitch for Hockey. The school has recently built a new indoor golf hub, complete with simulation screens. The ski slopes of Glenshee are just over an hour away.
Combined Cadet Force. There is a contingent of the Combined Cadet Force with strong links with the Armed Forces.
