Our vision
We teach the future, nurture ambition, grow potential,
and change the world, one pupil at a time.
We are Winchester House.
About
Winchester House is a haven of exploration, a home of questioning minds and risk takers, where passions meet success and the future opens up with fun, opportunity and excitement. It’s a place where ambition, courage and laughter go hand in hand and are nurtured in a family, friendly and fun atmosphere.
Our Nursery to Year 4 Creative Curriculum where the children access their learning through a term long topic creates excited and thoughtful young learners ready to take on the responsibility of independent and collaborative study and challenging specialist subject teaching from Years 5 to 8 as pupils prepare for Common Entrance.
Small classes, an experienced and passionate teaching team, and subject specialist teachers from an early age, provide powerful academic foundations for our pupils to succeed. Strong academic results and a number of pupils achieving scholarships to their chosen Senior Schools every year is just the beginning. Winchester House pupils are learning how to thrive as Change Makers in our ever changing world, becoming critical thinkers and trouble shooters, leaders and pioneers.
Our comprehensive and inspiring co-curricular programme offers a programme of discovery, growth and challenge, where new passions can be uncovered and talents developed. Horizons are broadened, with pupils learning how to navigate challenges as they build self-confidence, learn to look at things in different ways and master new skills. Our commitment to the whole child means that Academic success is important but no more important than succeeding in Sport, Drama or Music or indeed sustainability, kindness, questioning and responsibility.
Winchester House pupils have a global outlook and a community perspective, with our motto ‘not for ourselves alone’ coursing through the heart of the School.
The school is set in the heart of the market town of Brackley, on the borders of Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. We’re a town school with an outdoor feel, with extensive playing fields, an outdoor pool, integrated inside/outside learning areas and a Secret Garden for outdoor education.
We’re a proud member of The Stowe Group of schools.
Pupils return from Winchester House each day or after boarding excited by their learning, well fed, nurtured and often victorious from sporting success and usually fairly muddy!
Charitable status. Winchester House is part of Stowe School which is a registered charity.
