Our first-class facilities are set within 23 acres of school grounds. The site is spacious, with dedicated areas for children of different ages. Nursery, Junior and Senior School pupils benefit from their own buildings and facilities, while also enjoying shared spaces across the site. These include our large multipurpose sports and drama hall, swimming pool, and extensive sports pitches and grounds. There are also numerous play areas for our youngest children, along with natural spaces for pupils to enjoy outdoor learning.
New facilities continue to be, developed. These include a new Science Centre, a student study space, and enhanced Design Technology and dining facilities.

Kingshott is open to pupils between the ages of 3 and 16, irrespective of gender, race, religion, culture, sexual orientation or disability. Entry into Nursery is non-selective, and most children progress naturally into Reception. Early registration is encouraged, as waiting lists are in place for most year groups.
Children joining our Reception classes are invited to Kingshott for an informal ‘getting to know you’ session with their parents or guardians. Entry into older year groups (including Year 7 and above for the Senior School) is based on an assessment appropriate to the child’s age. Year 7 and Year 9 Scholarships (Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sport) are also available.
Kingshott is conveniently situated on the outskirts of Hitchin, with ample parking for busy parents. Families join us from across Hertfordshire and beyond – including Luton, Letchworth, Baldock, Stevenage and Welwyn. The A1(M) motorway is located just two miles from the school.
