Walthamstow Hall Junior School is a happy and vibrant school with a proud tradition of providing the highest quality education for boys and girls aged 2 up to Reception (4/5 years), and girls-only from Reception–11 years.
From Reception upwards pupils benefit from being in small classes with two parallel classes in most year groups. Optimum-sized classes throughout the Junior School guarantee individual attention, with obvious benefits including a seamless and highly effective preparation for senior school entrance exams without last-minute cramming and changes to routine.
A well-planned programme of education brings out the potential of each child as she progresses through the Junior School. A broad curriculum is enriched with many co-curricular activities and clubs. Wraparound care provision is available from 7.15 am until 6.15 pm Monday–Friday.
Girls are well prepared for a range of senior schools and have won awards to prestigious independent schools, including Walthamstow Hall Senior School (see entry in GSA section). Entry to our Senior School is from 11+, 13+ and 16+ with Awards, Scholarships and Bursaries offered. Equally, our track record in the Kent 11+ test is excellent.
Walthamstow Hall was founded in 1838 and is one of the oldest girls’ schools in the country. It has built a reputation for all-round excellence and achievements by girls are outstanding. Over recent years, many facilities have been enhanced or added, and our specialist facilities include our ICT Suite and Science Laboratory, Design and Technology, Art and Cookery Rooms, well-stocked computerised Library, Tennis and Netball Courts and dedicated Music Centre. Girls also have access to facilities at the nearby Senior School including the Ship Theatre, Swimming Pool, and Sports Centre. The school is situated in the centre of Sevenoaks within easy reach of road and rail networks.
