The School is a non-profit-making charitable trust administered by a Board of Governors, providing education from 2–11, set in six acres of its own grounds in a pleasant suburb of Preston.
The children are prepared for the entrance examinations to independent schools and Grammar Schools and it has an excellent record of scholarships to senior schools and SATS results at KS1 and KS2.
The school has an outstanding EYFS setting which covers the Reception classes and the Nursery, in open-plan Nursery rooms.
All preparatory curriculum subjects are covered, as well as sign language, Health & Wellbeing, and STEM.
Sports taught are Association Football, Cricket, Tennis, Hockey, Netball, Rugby, Rounders, Athletics and Cross Country.
Creative and Performing Arts, including Music and Drama, thrive alongside Outdoor Education and Forest School. Ballet, piano, wind, bass-guitar, percussion, string and singing lessons are some of the optional extras offered.
Charitable status. St Pius X School is a Registered Charity, number 526609. Its purpose is to equip the children with an outstanding academic and social education in a Catholic Christian environment, which will enable them to achieve their full potential – the school welcomes pupils of all faiths.
