St John’s Beaumont is a day and boarding preparatory school for children aged 3 to 13, located on a stunning 75-acre campus near Windsor, on the Berkshire–Surrey border. St John’s was founded as a Jesuit school for boys in 1888, and has had an outstanding track record of secure places and scholarships to all the top senior schools for its pupils.
This year, the school is entering an exciting new phase of its development with a move to co-education. From September 2023, girls will be welcomed into the Pre-Prep section of the school (Nursery–Year 2) with the intent that co-education will move up through the year groups with the passing of each academic year. The intent is to provide the same quality and breadth of learning and co-curricular activities for girls and boys.
We welcome children of all backgrounds, faiths and abilities, whose parents value high academic attainment and the development of the values, skills and attributes to enable successful navigation through life. Pupils from St John’s have always secured places at top senior schools, but our emphasis is on making sure that wherever the destination, each child is a ‘round peg in a round hole’ and that they continue to thrive.
To this day, St John’s still values the Jesuit approach to education, which is based upon a clear set of values to guide the development of the whole person and their interactions with those around them. Accordingly, St John’s offers a high-quality academic, co-curricular and external engagement programme that propagates a myriad of talents in all our pupils. But more than anything, we aim to nurture the development of the confidence and leadership skills that enables each pupil to lead others and themselves at every stage of life.
