St Dominic’s Priory School, Stone is an independent Catholic school, educating boys and girls from pre-school to 16 years.
We are proud of our strong academic tradition alongside our reputation for nurturing individuals. Our high-quality teaching and small classes create an environment in which true potential can be maximised at all times.
Not only are we ranked as one of the top performing schools in Staffordshire, we are non-selective, accepting children of all abilities. Our teachers are engaging and our low teacher-to-child ratio ensures that each child receives a high-quality education with the individual support that they need.
The redevelopment of our school site has seen us benefit from brand-new, state-of-the-art teaching facilities and landscaped recreational areas. The teaching block accommodates 10 new classrooms, all with interactive walls, state-of-the-art science laboratories and specialist art, music, performing arts and drama studios. We even have a roof-top classroom for vegetable growing, a bee hive, weather projects, outdoor performances and much more.
Location. Centrally located within North Staffordshire, the school is situated in the picturesque canal town of Stone, Staffordshire, within easy reach of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Uttoxeter, Cheadle and the surrounding villages. We provide school transport from a number of locations and Stone Railway Station is only a five-minute walk from school.
Aims and ethos. Our school mission statement is: Living and Learning with Christ as our Guide. We aim to create a love of learning in a friendly and happy environment, nurture individuality and instil in our students a sense of community spirit rooted in Dominican values. We wish to provide each child with tools that will equip them to not only succeed academically, but contribute positively to a society in which values of justice and compassion are paramount.
St Dominic’s welcomes children of all faiths, and within our school community diversity is embraced and respected.
Once again, our students achieved fantastic examination results in their end-of-year GCSEs in 2024, which only highlights the school’s strong academic tradition and reputation for giving an excellent all-round education. Students leave St Dominic’s with superb academic grades, self-confidence and friends for life.
