Park School is a thriving co-educational preparatory day school in a pleasant residential area near Bournemouth town centre. Our last full ISI Educational Quality and Compliance Inspection in February 2023 awarded the school ‘Excellent’ across all academic and pastoral areas of the school and EYFS.
Pupils are taught in small classes in a caring, happy environment. The school is geared principally towards academic achievement, with an emphasis on nurturing individual progress. At the heart of all we do is the belief that children will achieve their best when they are happy. We foster a positive ethos and the development of the all-round child. This covers not only work in the classroom, but all other aspects of school life: games, music, the arts and other activities. Sport is an important part of Park School life and we use our stunning facility at Dean Park for games lessons and sports fixtures.
Pupils are prepared for entry to Senior Independent Schools and Bournemouth and Poole Grammar Schools through tests at 11+ years. Many children gain scholarships to Senior Independent Schools.
Most pupils join us in the Nursery and Reception years but there are occasionally vacancies further up the School. An offer of a place is made only after prospective pupils have been assessed.
Park School Nursery is open between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Friday all year round with the exception of Christmas week and Bank Holidays. A new baby room within the nursery has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted in 2024.
