A journey with purpose
Holme Grange School is a co-educational independent day school for pupils aged 2–16, set within 21 acres of Berkshire countryside near the market town of Wokingham. At the heart of the school is a belief that education is a lifelong journey towards meaning, purpose, connection and wisdom. From Nursery through to GCSE, pupils are nurtured within an aspirational and supportive environment where academic ambition goes hand in hand with care, kindness and responsibility.
Learn with depth and ambition
Teaching and learning at Holme Grange are underpinned by a broad, forward-looking curriculum that prepares pupils for the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century. High expectations, strong relationships and personalised support ensure that every pupil is challenged appropriately and supported to flourish.
Academic outcomes are strong. In the 2025 GCSE examinations, 16% of all grades were awarded at Grade 9, 37% at Grades 9 - 8 and 59% at Grades 9 - 7, with an overall pass rate of 96%.
Personalised learning for every child
Holme Grange is recognised nationally for its commitment to personalised learning. The school has been accredited four times with the NACE Challenge Award and holds NACE Challenge Ambassador School Status, reflecting excellence in provision for more able learners alongside strong support for pupils who require additional guidance. Every child is known as an individual and encouraged to aim high.
Find your voice
Creative expression plays a central role in school life. Drama and music are inclusive and ambitious, offering opportunities from Nursery to Senior School for performance, collaboration and self-expression. Pupils develop confidence, empathy and communication through productions, ensembles and performances, supported by specialist teaching and excellent facilities.
Sport for life
Sport is valued for both participation and performance. Pupils compete regularly at local, regional and national level while enjoying a broad and inclusive programme that builds confidence, teamwork and resilience. In 2025, Holme Grange was shortlisted for the Independent Schools of the Year Awards in Sport, recognising the strength and inclusivity of its sporting provision.
Care for the wider world
Sustainability is embedded across curriculum and culture at Holme Grange. In 2025, the school was named Winner of the ISA Award for Excellence in Sustainability, reflecting its pupil-led initiatives, climate education and commitment to responsible global citizenship. Partnerships, global connections and outdoor learning help pupils develop empathy, awareness and a sense of responsibility beyond the school gates.
Lead with integrity
Leadership is nurtured at every stage. Pupils take on a wide range of leadership and service roles, developing responsibility, confidence and integrity. Opportunities such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award further support independence, resilience and perseverance.
Be future ready
Holme Grange prepares pupils for life beyond school through a strong focus on digital literacy, ethical use of technology and global competencies. Pupils learn to think critically about the digital world, including the responsible use of artificial intelligence, and are supported through a comprehensive careers and future pathways programme. Pupils leave at 16 as confident, articulate and resilient young people, ready for the next stage of their journey.
