Lancing Prep Worthing is based in a lovely Georgian manor house on a site of two acres, with space to run and play, in the Broadwater area of Worthing. It is located some six miles from Lancing College.
Our ethos is made up of three elements: Love Learning, Be Kind and Go out in the World and Do Good. Parents choose Lancing Prep at Worthing for these aims, which are fundamental to everything that happens here, but also because they recognise that its family feel, outstanding pastoral care and small classes are good for children starting on their learning journey and whose childhood is protected and cherished. When children leave us at 13+, they are role models and mentors to their younger peers, and they have achieved their potential.
We were inspected by the ISI in May 2025 under the new framework, which came into effect from September 2023. We are recognised to meet all the standards and regulations governing the running of an Independent Prep School and to be compliant in all areas.
Our broad and balanced curriculum is enriched with high-quality creative and physical activities to provide a vibrant learning environment. We nurture in all our pupils a love of learning to enable them to maximise their academic potential. We encourage our pupils to think for themselves and to find ways in which they may enrich the lives of others, whether inside or outside the school community. This ensures that, as our children leave us for their next school, they do so as thoughtful members of society, well prepared to face the challenges that life sends their way.
Outdoor space comprises hard courts and a large grass field for the coaching of our main sports: cricket, football, hockey, netball, rounders, athletics and tennis. Our children also benefit from sharing the extensive cultural and sporting facilities at Lancing College. Children in Years 7 and 8 take part in a language programme learning Spanish or German, led by Lancing College. Scholarships with means-tested bursaries are available for entry into Year 7.
Charitable status. Lancing Prep at Worthing is a Registered Charity, number 1155150. It exists to provide education for boys and girls.
