Leading the way for 21st-century prep school boarding, BG opened a new state-of-the-art boarding house, Earle House, in 2025 featuring en-suite rooms alongside a huge emphasis on fun with hubs for music and play, a home cinema and a helter-skelter slide to transport the pupils between the levels.
Tailor-made boarding options, from flexi, weekly and full, suit modern family life, while a new all-through boarding pathway to Rugby School, with fee benefits, is now available to boarders in Year 7.
Headmaster, Gareth Jones, ensures pupils benefit from an impressive range of opportunities designed to support individual interests. Children share common values of respect, awareness of others and courtesy. They are usually ‘all-rounders’, keen to take advantage of all that is on offer – be it on the sports field, in the classroom or on an adventure weekend.
Academics is impressive with 35 scholarships awarded across 11 different senior schools in 2025 including to the likes of Eton, Rugby, Harrow and Cheltenham Ladies College. Expect small class sizes, a broad range of subjects and specialist teaching staff who believe when children are thrilled, they will learn.
Impressive facilities include a purpose-built theatre, Music School, chapel, 25-metre indoor swimming pool, nine-hole golf course, shooting range and a floodlit Astro hockey pitch located within Pugin’s walled garden. Sporting success is achieved at regional and national level, while creative arts are a big part of school life with scholarship successes and achievements across Music, Art, Drama and Design Technology.
The Chorister Programme, launched with Rugby School three years ago, is hugely popular with 30 girls and boys regularly performing in Evensong and concerts.
