The Junior School is housed in its own separate building adjacent to the Senior School. Facilities include specialist rooms for Art, Science, ICT, Design Technology and a refurbished Library, with designated Year 3 classrooms and playground as well as a superb state-of-the-art School Hall.
The whole site overlooks the school playing fields and the Junior School has extensive views over the Ouse Valley. Many of the Senior School facilities are available to the Junior School, including full use of the playing fields, sports hall, gymnasium, covered and heated swimming pool and all-weather pitches. The Howard Hall, the 300-seat theatre in the Senior School, provides facilities for full-scale drama productions and concerts.
The school enjoys a strong musical, dramatic and sporting tradition.
Students are admitted to the Junior School at ages 7, 8, 9 and 10 following assessments in January. Most of these are computerised and include English, Maths and non-verbal reasoning. Students proceed to the Senior School at 11, unless special circumstances prevent this.
