Arnold House School was founded in 1905 in St John’s Wood, London. It is an independent preparatory school for boys aged 3–13, and a member of IAPS. A thriving school, with 350 boys, Arnold House aims to provide an education of breadth and excellence and to serve the boys’ best interests across the ability range. The School aims to do so in a supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment, to provide a foundation for the boys’ development within a generous Christian ethos, to help them mature into well-rounded individuals by developing their enjoyment of music, the arts and sport, and to promote good citizenship through the virtues of courtesy and industry.
The school works across three sites including 7 acres of playing fields at Canons Park, which also houses a 150-seat auditorium. More recently, the School acquired 38 Marlborough Place (The Huxley Building) in St John’s Wood allowing for the expansion of an Early Years offering. The main point of entry is in Pre-Reception (aged 3). Occasional places may become available further up the school and bursary places are offered from Year 5.
Boys transfer to their chosen independent senior schools and Arnold House has an enviable record of success in placing each boy in the school that is right for him. More than half of the boys move on to the most sought-after London day schools: City of London, St Paul’s, Mill Hill, UCS and Westminster. Others transfer to renowned boarding schools: Eton, Harrow, Marlborough, Bradfield, Radley, Rugby, Tonbridge and Winchester have been popular destinations in recent years.
Charitable status. Arnold House School is a Registered Charity, number 312725. It exists to provide education for boys in preparation for transfer to senior independent schools.
