Maida Vale School, part of the Gardener Schools Group, is a co-educational, independent school for 11-18 year olds. We take a fresh approach to all areas of school life, while retaining core traditional values, we also have a broad curriculum, a vast enrichment programme, and an extended school day. This provides variety and flexibility, which allows our Pupils to develop their individual talents and fulfil their fullest potential. For those interested in STEM, Maida Vale offers multiple science laboratories, computing suites, as well as D&T and CAD design spaces. Although academic rigour is at the centre of our school, sports and the arts form an important part of the day to day at Maida Vale. The school houses spacious studio facilities for dance, yoga and HIIT (high intensity interval training) classes. We have access to a number of nearby sports grounds and facilities allowing our dynamic PE department to thrive, whilst our theatre and art studios provide a wide variety of drama, musical and artistic opportunities.
Each pupil receives individual attention both educationally and pastorally. We believe that children and young adults flourish when their self-esteem and confidence is bolstered. Our Personal Tutor Group system contributes greatly to this with each tutor meeting their tutee daily and remaining the same member of staff throughout the Pupil’s seven years with us. We cultivate values of respect, tolerance, and community responsibility in everyone that attends Maida Vale.
Taking advantage of the school’s location close to the heart of London, we use the city as a valuable resource, both within our learning and within extra-curricular activities. We frequently have guest speakers that give talks entrenched in their own life experiences. We also offer pupils the chance to experience residential activity-based courses in the UK, and cultural excursions abroad.
