Woodlands School at Hutton Manor is set on attractive, spacious grounds, with excellent facilities for outdoor activities. The school also uses the extensive facilities of our sister school at Great Warley.
It is the School’s principal aim to ensure that all the children are happy and secure and are as successful as possible. They are encouraged to work hard and to show kindness and consideration to their peers. The resulting ethos of the School is one of warmth, support and mutual respect.
The School provides an exciting learning experience that enables the pupils to achieve full academic potential and to develop qualities of curiosity, independence and fortitude. Classes are small. The school aims to develop high levels of self-esteem and a good attitude to learning. The School has an excellent record in public examinations. Pupils are highly successful in gaining places at the schools of their choice. Examination results in Music and LAMDA are also excellent.
A varied programme of team and individual sports aims to offer something for everyone.
There is a strong music tradition and a variety of dramatic and musical concerts and productions are staged throughout the year for children of each age group.
Modern languages are taught to a very high standard, with French introduced at the age of 3 and Spanish in the Upper School.
Pastoral care is a major feature. An ‘Open House’ policy is in place for parents, which results in any concern being dealt with promptly and effectively.
It is the School’s view that the education of the whole child is the most important priority and is confident that the learning experience it provides is fun, truly stimulating and memorable.
The school has an onsite day-care nursery, Little Acorns, which operates for 51 weeks of the year from 7:30–18:00 offering places for children from the age of 3 months.
