Established in 1946, St Peter’s is a small day school set in secure and beautifully green grounds in a quiet residential area of Kettering. It offers an enriched education based upon Christian values for boys and girls from the term of their third birthday to age 11. Pupils are thoroughly prepared for entry to a secondary school of their choice and have a high rate of success in entrance and scholarship examinations.
The school is situated in a leafy part of Kettering, which has excellent transport links via road and rail. Housed in the former family home of William Timpson, the school occupies a beautiful and secure campus. The school has grown from its 1946 beginnings, and now houses St Peter's Preschool, Reception and KS1 within the gardens of the Victorian house. The latest building is a new eco teaching space housing Art and the wraparound care facility in the Cedar Hub.
Academic excellence sits at our core, yet we believe a true education is about far more than attainment alone. Guided by a broad curriculum that values Music, Art, Sport, and Technology alongside traditional academics, we inspire curiosity, character, and creativity in every pupil. From weekly swimming to optional individual instrument lessons ranging from violin to saxophone, our children are given every opportunity to discover their unique passions and master new skills.
St Peter’s is a family-first while also a friendly and inclusive community where every child is known as an individual.
Recognised at inspection for our outstanding pastoral care, we prioritise pupil wellbeing above all else, providing a safe, happy environment where children are supported by expert staff. We nurture individual strengths, promote traditional values, and instil a strong sense of responsibility and care for others. Rather than a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach, we challenge each child to achieve their personal best, ensure they make excellent progress, and empower them to leave us as confident, well-rounded learners with a clear sense of the positive difference they can make in the world.
Charitable status. St Peter’s School is a Registered Charity, number 309914. It was originally incorporated in 1946 with an intention to maintain and manage a school for boys and girls in the town of Kettering. In addition to this it provides local employment and seeks to source from the local community wherever economically viable.
