At Hilden Grange, we provide a stimulating, friendly and secure environment in which an individual child’s potential is developed in the academic, creative, physical and spiritual areas. Through encouragement, outstanding teaching and a positive, inclusive atmosphere, we aim to help pupils strive for high standards, both inside and outside the classroom, take a pride in their endeavours and enjoy participating in the life of the school with all its wide-ranging opportunities. The wellbeing of each child underpins their success and is of paramount importance to us. Courtesy, good manners and mutual respect are expected at all times within our community. We aim for each individual to feel valued and very much a part of our school family.
Though links are especially strong with Tonbridge and Sevenoaks, boys and girls are prepared for all Independent Senior Schools and Grammar Schools at 11+ and 13+. We have an unequalled record of success in this area. Examination results rank among the highest in Kent, and in the past ten years, all pupils gained entry to their chosen school at 13. Boys and girls who show special promise sit for scholarships to the school of their choice, and our track record in this area is excellent. 100 scholarships have been gained since 2019 in areas as diverse as music, drama and sport, as well as traditional academic scholarships. Pupils benefit from specialist teaching in all subjects from Year 3, dedicated staff, and class sizes that average 16.
The School stands in about twenty acres of attractive grounds in the residential area of North Tonbridge. Boys and girls are accepted into the Nursery at 2½+ or at 4+ into the Pre-Preparatory Department within the school grounds, and at 7 into the main school.
There is an outdoor heated swimming pool, a dedicated Sports Hall, all-weather tennis courts, Science Laboratories, Music Rooms, an Art and Design area, a Library, a Learning Support Area, a dining hall and two Information Technology Rooms, with networks of personal computers.
The Headmaster, staff and children welcome visitors and are pleased to show them around the School.
