The Grantham Preparatory International School is a non-denominational independent day school for boys and girls between the ages of three and eleven. The school was established in 1981 and moved to a modern, purpose-built building in 1987. It is set in nearly four acres of grounds and playing fields and, being close to the A1, it is easily accessible.
The school is owned by International Education Systems. IES is a network of ten schools (three in South Africa, two in the UK, one in Hungary, one in the United States, one in Panama and one in Italy). IES’s mission is to provide excellence in education provision within an international perspective. Here at The Grantham Preparatory International School, we are committed to excellence in all areas of the curriculum, and we aim to provide the best for all our children in a happy family environment. We are now delighted to be a member of the ISA family after being accredited in November 2011.
We received an ISI inspection in January 2023 and were found to be ‘Excellent in all areas’.
Our children are prepared for entrance examinations to Independent senior schools and for Grammar school selection examinations. Children benefit from many specialist teachers who bring their own enthusiasm and knowledge to a particular subject. This ensures high academic standards and our broad and balanced curriculum enables our children to experience sport, art, music and drama and have the opportunity to pursue and develop their strengths, achieving their full potential. Specialist music teachers provide individual tuition in a wide variety of instruments.
The school wind band, choir and recital groups continue to delight audiences with their stunning performances. The school has been awarded the Platinum Award for Sport for six years in succession as well as other awards for Sport.
Learning is fun in our Early Years Foundation Unit. In our care, children thrive and make excellent progress in all areas of learning and development.
We believe that every child is an important unique individual that should be valued and nurtured during their time with us. We expect our children to leave us at age 11 as independent, confident individuals, tolerant of others and well prepared for the next stage of their education.
