Fairfield Prep School is an independent, co-educational school for children aged 3–11 set within Loughborough Schools Foundation’s beautiful campus. Originally founded in 1929, Fairfield is a flourishing school of some 500 pupils and is perfectly situated to provide an exceptional primary education.
The supportive Fairfield family offers children endless exciting experiences, backed by high academic standards. Staff are committed to the development of every pupil and aim to ensure that all children enjoy their time at the school.
Success and achievement are found through our inspiring and lively academic environment, sporting and musical opportunities as well as numerous co-curricular activities which take place outside the classroom. Many staff members at the School run at least one co-curricular session, ensuring that our programme of activities meet the diverse and ever-changing interests of our pupils. Independent reviews highlight our commitment to pastoral care, emphasising the unique environment where every child feels fortunate to belong.
Learning is supported through a wide range of activities, utilising iPads and other technologies, along with specialist teaching in science, ICT, modern foreign languages, PE, and music. Beyond traditional classroom learning, our Forest School, dough gym, and wildlife observation opportunities are all integral to our learning environment. We pride ourselves on our expertise in creative learning to foster exploration, independence, and a deeper connection to the natural world.
Fairfield’s philosophy of tiny feet making huge strides sits alongside our aim to ignite the spark that lights a lifelong love of learning, so that when a child leaves us, they do so as happy, confident and fully independent learners. Pupils are given the tools they require to become confident, empathetic team players, and empowered leaders that our future needs.
Fairfield Prep is part of The Loughborough Schools Foundation, a foundation of four schools comprising: Fairfield Prep School (boys and girls 3–11), Loughborough Amherst School (boys and girls 4–18), Loughborough Grammar School (boys 10–18) and Loughborough High School (girls 11–18). The schools operate under one governing body which means that Fairfield Prep pupils benefit from exceptional shared facilities, including our outstanding Music department, cutting-edge STEM resources, a team of exceptional educators, diverse co-curricular programmes, excellent sports facilities and coaching, nutritious catering, and a comprehensive transport service within our extensive catchment area.
