Amesbury is a co-educational day school founded in 1870 and is the only independent co-educational Prep school in the Hindhead/Haslemere area. The main building is unique, as it is the only school to be designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, and stands in its own 34-acre estate in the heart of the Surrey countryside.
The school serves children aged 9 months to 13 years. It is a modern, dynamic and inclusive prep school where academic ambition, character education and pastoral care come together to spark passion, inspire curiosity and nuture a kind, confident, have-a-go spirit in every child.
Purpose and ethos.
Academically ambitious – we strive for excellence in all areas of learning.
Highest levels of pastoral care – our culture, structures and mindset ensure that wellbeing and care are central to everything we do; we model the best, most joined-up pastoral care.
Focused on the individual – we recognise and celebrate each child’s unique strengths, interests and needs, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
Creative, fun and full of spirit – through our everyday actions and behaviours, we foster a vibrant atmosphere where character, curiosity and creativity thrive.
