Co-educational Independent School of the Year 2025
Alleyn's is an academically selective, co-educational school which attracts families and children from diverse backgrounds with a range of personalities, talents and interests. At Alleyn’s Junior School we aim to create an environment of wonder and curiosity for each child to achieve their best academic progress and be all that they can be by developing the children's sense of confidence within the context of our ROCCK values of Respect, Opportunity, Curiosity, Courage and Kindness. To this end we offer small class sizes where teachers work towards creating a calm, purposeful and vibrant atmosphere, so that high levels of participation are possible for all children.
Diverse interests and talents are nurtured outside the classroom through our fabulous cocurricular programme that encourages pupils to explore and develop their individual strengths and passions. Doing it all is the norm and we are a busy school that enables a true breadth and richness of opportunity to be accessed and enjoyed.
Bright children with bright futures need to have opportunities to develop a sense of team spirit, be comfortable in themselves and take individual responsibility for themselves and for others. The school’s pastoral care is supported by a strong house system that extends from Reception all the way through to Year 6. Our children love their school very much and this is because they are seen, heard and recognised by the peers and their teachers.
Alleyn's has a wonderful history that we cherish and celebrate, along with a desire to remain at the forefront of education. We aim to prepare our children for the demands of an ever-changing society and world. The school’s origins can be traced back to Edward Alleyn in 1619 who was arguably the most famous Shakespearean actor of the Elizabethan age. From its origins, Alleyn's has continued to create a school where children and teachers respect each other in a friendly, safe and happy environment. In doing this we lay the foundations for future personal and academic fulfilment.
