ACS Cobham is a co-educational school for 1,300 students aged 2–18 and 300 expert faculty and staff, representing over 70 nationalities.
Far more than just a school, ACS Cobham is a friendly, vibrant international community with a global outlook that guides our world-renowned curriculum. Based on US educational best practice, we offer a new kind of learning for a new kind of world citizen. Our goal is as simple as it is inspiring: to make our students ready for the challenges of tomorrow, so they thrive at every stage of their lives.
Our teaching and academic credentials are second to none. Our students are encouraged to tailor their studies to suit their talents and ambitions, while a wealth of outstanding support amenities help deliver a well-rounded educational experience. Equally important is our beautiful, leafy campus, just 30 minutes from central London. Our location offers students the best of both worlds – the stimulation of one of the world’s great cities, combined with the charms of the English countryside.
Unique amongst our four schools, ACS Cobham offer boarding as an option for students aged 13 to 18, who enjoy state-of-the-art facilities in our recently opened boarding house.
Academic programme. At ACS Cobham, your child has access to an independent and flexible curriculum, underpinned by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, Advanced Placement (AP) courses and the ACS High School Diploma (US). These opportunities develop your child’s learning and life skills. ACS graduates have established a tradition of attaining excellent exam results, enabling them to continue their studies at top universities around the world, including the US and UK.
Facilities. Situated on 128 acres approximately 30 minutes by train from Central London, ACS Cobham enrols over 1,300 students. Exceptional facilities include an Early Childhood village; purpose-built Lower, Middle, and High School buildings; gymnasium and cafeteria complex and two world-class boarding houses. All Lower, Middle and High School buildings have separate classrooms, science labs, libraries, computer labs, art and music studios and access to the school’s state-of-the-art Interactive Learning Centre.
Enrichment activities. ACS Cobham offers extensive and varied extracurricular clubs and community service activities both locally and internationally, which encourage students to participate in the richness of school life. Students also participate in international theatre arts programmes, maths, literature and music competitions in the UK and across Europe.
Sports. Our 128-acre campus is home to the best range of quality sports facilities of any international school in Europe, with soccer and rugby fields, softball and baseball diamonds, an all-weather Olympic-sized track, tennis courts, and a six-hole golf course. Our Sports Centre comprises a 25-metre competition indoor swimming pool, basketball/volleyball show courts, dance and fitness studios, and a café.
Boarding at ACS Cobham. As part of an increasingly mobile world, the ACS Cobham Boarding House has established itself as a genuine champion of internationalism, with students representing more than 30 countries. We are proud of our multicultural identity, and celebrate the things that make us different as an integral part of boarding life.
Expert residential house parents and nurse ensure our students have the constant support, guidance, and care to be happy, inspired, and ready to make their mark on the world.
A multi-million pound refurbishment of the existing boarding house Fields is now complete and features a new walk-in medical centre with a fully-trained medical team. All study-bedrooms are either single or twin, and all have a private bathroom. Furnishings are to a very high standard and include wall-to-wall carpeting, built-in wardrobes (closets), desks, lamps, bookcases, beds and bedside units. There is WiFi throughout. There are spacious lounges with large screen television and DVD players, laundry facilities, and kitchenettes. Main meals are taken in the school’s stunning dining hall located next to the Boarding House.
Boarders are allocated bedrooms on their own or with other boarders of the same age. Boys and girls are accommodated in separate areas, with some shared common rooms.
Accreditation. ACS Cobham is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and is authorised by the International Baccalaureate (IB) to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The school holds memberships in the US College Board Advanced Placement (AP) Program, the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Independent Schools Association (ISA).
