IAPS
IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools)
IAPS is the leading Association for Heads of independent prep and junior schools in the UK and internationally, providing its members with a range of support services, advice, professional development and a voice with government.
Heads can only join IAPS if they have been accredited through a range of measures of quality of the schools that they run. They must demonstrate the highest standards of education and care, and that their school offers an all-round, values-led, broad education which produces confident, adaptable, motivated children with a lifelong passion for learning.
While the values may be the same, each of our schools is independent and distinct: we have single-sex and co-educational, boarding, day and mixed, urban and rural.
We have one of the independent sector’s top training programmes which includes a broad range of professional development courses. New members are offered a highly qualified IAPS coach as support and members are divided into District groups by geographical location, giving them the chance to meet with fellow Heads on a regular basis. We organise sporting tournaments for pupils to a national standard in a wide range of sports. Our Annual Conference brings together members with leaders in educational thinking, politics and business.
With around 600 member schools in the UK and more than 50 beyond it, IAPS offers excellent opportunities to members for fellowship and networking.
